Why now

In June it's a surprise. In autumn it's a plan.

"Last year I got money back, this year I owe." We hear it every summer. Usually something changed during the year: a new job, a raise, a rental, or card spending that fell short. By the time the return opens, the year is closed and nothing can be fixed.

The Tax Check moves that moment to the autumn, while you can still do something about it.

One example: the card spending rule

Say you earn €24,000 this year after social security. Greece expects 30% of that, €7,200, to be spent by card or other electronic payment. You have spent €5,000. The gap is €2,200, and it is taxed at 22%: €484 more tax next summer.

Know it in November and you can close most of that gap before 31 December. Find out in June and you just pay it.

Questions

Before you decide

Is this a tax return?

No. It's a forecast of the return you'll file next year, so you know what's coming and can still act before 31 December. Filing the return itself is a separate service.

Who is it for?

Employees in Greece who are Greek tax residents and paid by a Greek employer. The Plus version also covers up to 2 extra sources: rent from a Greek property, bank interest, or small foreign income with no tax paid abroad.

Who isn't it for?

Freelancers and anyone registered as self-employed, people paid by a foreign employer, and cases with tax credits for tax paid abroad or special regimes like 5A or 5C. Those need a proper review, so we quote them separately.

What do I need to send?

Your payslips for this year so far, and your card spending from 1 January to today for every account you pay from, Greek or foreign. Send the transactions as a CSV export from your e-banking or app. For a Greek bank you can give us the yearly total instead. For Plus, also your rent received and interest statements. The upload page opens right after payment.

Can I send PDF statements?

Yes, but CSV is what we work with. PDF statements cost €2 per page, up to €30 in total. We tell you the amount and ask you before we start.

I pay with Revolut or a foreign card. Does that count?

It can, but it does not reach AADE on its own, so it has to be added when your return is filed. Your forecast shows how much. If we file your E1 for you, we add it for you.

How accurate is it?

As accurate as the figures you send. We fill in the remaining months from your latest payslips. If your pay or income changes before year end, tell us and the estimate can move.

I changed jobs this year. Does that matter?

Often, yes. Each employer takes tax as if it were your only job for the whole year, so after a job change the total taken can be too little. This is one of the most common reasons people get a bill in June. A job change during the year is covered. Two jobs at the same time is not: ask us first.

What if the forecast turns out wrong?

We show the figures and the assumptions we used, so you can see where a number comes from. If your income changes after we send it, the result can change too. Tell us and we explain what moves.

What happens to my documents?

They go into a private folder that only our team can open, and we use them only for your check. Our privacy policy explains the rest. We never ask for your TAXISnet password.

Can I get a refund?

If your case turns out to be outside what the check covers, you get your money back. Once we've delivered your forecast, it isn't refundable. See the terms. Read the terms.

Is it only available now?

Yes. The check is sold until 30 November, because after that there's too little of the year left to change anything.
