Sound familiar?

The paperwork nobody
warned you about.

Moving to Greece is wonderful. The administrative side? Less so. Here's what we hear from expats every week.

"I've been told I need an AFM but I don't know how to get one, and the tax office website is entirely in Greek."

"My landlord wants a tax declaration I've never heard of. I don't even know what form to file or where to start."

"I'm a freelancer working remotely in Greece. I have no idea what I owe, to which country, or how the Greek tax system even works."

"I got a letter from the Greek tax authority. It's in Greek. I've been ignoring it for three weeks because I don't know what it says."

Επιδόματα

Greek Benefits & Allowances
you may be entitled to.

Most expats in Greece never claim the government benefits they're legally entitled to — not because they don't qualify, but because the application process is in Greek and nearly impossible to navigate without help. We handle it for you.

Did you know? Many foreign residents in Greece qualify for the same state benefits as Greek citizens — including rent allowance, heating subsidies, and child benefits — but miss out every year simply because they can't access the system in English. We change that.
Housing
Επίδομα Ενοικίου

Rent Allowance

Income support
Ελάχιστο Εγγυημένο Εισόδημα

Frequently asked

Questions we hear
every week.

If yours isn't here, ask us on the free call.

Possibly. If you're renting, opening a bank account, buying a car, or doing anything that involves a Greek contract, you'll likely need an AFM. It's also required for most government interactions. It doesn't commit you to being a tax resident — it's simply a reference number. We recommend getting one if you're staying more than a month or two.
This depends on how long you've been in Greece in the calendar year. Greece considers you a tax resident if you've spent more than 183 days in the country in a given year. If you are a Greek tax resident, you need to declare your worldwide income. We can assess your situation on a free call and advise on what applies to you.
For most services, yes — everything is done remotely. You send us your documents digitally, we handle the rest. For some registrations, a power of attorney signed in your home country (or via a Greek notary) may be required, but we guide you through that process step by step.
We charge per service, not via subscription. You pay for what you need when you need it. Payment is via card or bank transfer. We'll always confirm the fee upfront before any work begins — no surprises.
You're not alone — this is one of the most common situations we deal with. Greece does have late filing penalties, but they are often manageable, especially for individuals. The worst approach is to continue ignoring it. Book a free call and we'll give you an honest assessment of where you stand and what the next step is.
Yes. MyGreekTax is the English-language front end; all regulated filings are carried out by our licensed Greek accountant partner who is registered with the relevant Greek professional bodies. You get the accessibility of an English-speaking service backed by the compliance of a licensed professional.
