Sound familiar?

The paperwork nobody
warned you about.

Moving to Greece is wonderful. The administrative side? Less so. Here's what we hear from expats every week.

"I've been told I need an AFM but I don't know how to get one, and the tax office website is entirely in Greek."

"My landlord wants a tax declaration I've never heard of. I don't even know what form to file or where to start."

"I'm a freelancer working remotely in Greece. I have no idea what I owe, to which country, or how the Greek tax system even works."

"I got a letter from the Greek tax authority. It's in Greek. I've been ignoring it for three weeks because I don't know what it says."

How it works

Three steps to sorted.

We've designed the process to be as painless as possible, for people who have better things to do than learn Greek tax law.

Tax Residency & Complex Cases
Our specialty

Tax residency transfers: moving to or leaving Greece. The most common high-impact case we handle, end to end. Most expats discover too late that getting this wrong costs thousands. We get it right the first time.

Επιδόματα

Greek Benefits & Allowances
you may be entitled to.

Most expats in Greece never claim the government benefits they're legally entitled to, not because they don't qualify, but because the application process is in Greek and nearly impossible to navigate without help. We handle it for you.

Did you know? Many foreign residents in Greece qualify for the same state benefits as Greek citizens, including rent allowance, heating subsidies and child benefits, but miss out every year simply because they can't access the system in English. We change that.
Housing
Επίδομα Ενοικίου

Rent Allowance

A monthly housing subsidy from OPEKA for eligible low-to-middle income residents renting in Greece. Many expats qualify but never apply. We assess your eligibility and submit the application entirely in English.

Application assistance from €49
Energy
Επίδομα Θέρμανσης

Heating Allowance

An annual government subsidy to help cover winter heating costs: oil, gas, electricity or pellets. Paid directly to your account each autumn. We handle the application through the AADE portal on your behalf.

Application assistance from €49
Family
Επίδομα Παιδιού (Α21)

Child Benefit

A monthly allowance per dependent child, paid by OPEKA under the A21 programme. The amount increases with each child. Foreign residents with children living in Greece are eligible if they meet the income criteria.

Application assistance from €49
Income support
Ελάχιστο Εγγυημένο Εισόδημα

Minimum Guaranteed Income

Greece's social safety net benefit for households below a set income threshold. Covers essential living costs. Eligibility depends on residency, income and assets. We assess your situation and manage the OPEKA application.

Eligibility check from €49
Employment
Επίδομα Ανεργίας

Unemployment Benefit

If you've been employed in Greece and paid into EFKA, you may be entitled to unemployment benefit through DYPA after losing your job. We help you understand your entitlement and navigate the claim process.

Disability
Επίδομα Αναπηρίας

Disability Allowance

Monthly support for residents with certified disabilities, paid through KEPA and OPEKA. Rates vary by degree of disability. We explain your options and assist with the certification and application process in plain English.

Frequently asked

Questions we hear
every week.

If yours isn't here, ask us on the free call.

Possibly. If you're renting, opening a bank account, buying a car, or doing anything that involves a Greek contract, you'll likely need an AFM. It's also required for most government interactions. It doesn't commit you to being a tax resident. It's simply a reference number. We recommend getting one if you're staying more than a month or two.
The visa itself doesn't decide it. You become a Greek tax resident if you spend more than 183 days in Greece in any 12-month period, or if your life is based here. As a resident, you declare your worldwide income on a Greek E1. We can assess your situation on a free call and tell you what applies to you.
For most services, yes, everything is done remotely. You send us your documents digitally and we handle the rest. Some registrations need a signed authorisation, which you certify at a Greek consulate or with a local notary where you live. We tell you exactly what to sign and guide you step by step.
Most services are charged per job: you pay for what you need, when you need it. The only ongoing plan is the Freelancer Retainer, at a fixed monthly fee. We always confirm the fee in writing before any work begins, so there are no surprises.
You're not alone. This is one of the most common situations we deal with. Greece does have late filing penalties, but they are often manageable, especially for individuals. The worst approach is to continue ignoring it. Book a free call and we'll give you an honest assessment of where you stand and what the next step is.
Yes. MyGreekTax is the English-language front end; all regulated filings are carried out by our licensed Greek accountant partner who is registered with the relevant Greek professional bodies. You get the accessibility of an English-speaking service backed by the compliance of a licensed professional.
No. The normal route is a formal εξουσιοδότηση (authorisation) granted by you through myAADE, scoped only to the specific filing we're handling. Your TAXISnet account stays under your sole control. This is the same mechanism Greek accountants use for their domestic clients, and it's the safest way to delegate a filing.

If you'd rather we registered that authorisation for you instead of doing it yourself, we can, but only through a one-time encrypted form on our portal, which we send you a link to. It encrypts what you enter in your own browser, before it's transmitted; the key that unlocks it is held outside our systems entirely, so our database and our hosting can never read it. It's used once to set up the authorisation, never shared with our accountant partner, and deleted on request. That route is entirely optional and never a condition of any service. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy. We will never ask for your password by email, phone, or a messaging app.
No, and we're upfront about it. MyGreekTax is an administrative coordination service, run by a company registered in Estonia. Every regulated filing is executed by a licensed Greek accountant who is a member of the Economic Chamber of Greece (OEE). Legal matters such as visas, permits and property are handled with a partner lawyer registered with the Athens Bar. Ask us about your case. Our role is to make the process accessible in English; theirs is to handle the filing under Greek law. Both roles are clearly separated and disclosed.
Starting prices on this page apply to straightforward cases. After the free consultation we send you a written quote covering the full scope of work for your specific situation. Nothing starts until you've reviewed and approved that quote in writing. You will never receive a surprise invoice.
If we haven't started work yet, we refund in full, no questions. Once a filing is in progress, refunds are case-by-case depending on the stage; we'll always be fair and transparent. If something we deliver is wrong because of an error on our side, we fix it at our cost. That's not a refund, it's just standard practice. Full details, including your 14 day right of withdrawal, are on our Refunds and Cancellation page.
