You don't qualify for 5C.
5C is only for people who were Greek tax residents for at most 1 of the last 6 years. You were resident for longer, so the 50% break is closed to you.
That's the whole answer. No need to pay anyone to check it.
Moving to Greece anyway? Our tax residency guide covers what changes for you.

As things stand, you most likely don't qualify.
5C covers income from work done for a Greek employer, a foreign employer with an office in Greece, or your own business registered in Greece. Working remotely for a company or clients abroad, with no Greek registration, doesn't count.
One route can open it: registering as self-employed in Greece. That comes with its own costs (social security, bookkeeping, advance tax), so it only pays off for some incomes.
Want to know if it pays off for you? That's exactly what our €49 check works out.

You might qualify. A few more details decide it.
Your answers don't rule you out. Whether you qualify depends on details like your start date, your employer or client setup, and your stay plans.
Moving from outside the EU is usually fine. We confirm your country in the check.

You may qualify. Three things still decide it.
Your answers pass the first checks. The quiz can't see the parts that usually trip people up: your exact move date, your employment contract, and the application deadline, which is strict and easy to miss.
We check all of it and tell you, in writing, whether you qualify and what you'd actually save each year.
Moving from outside the EU is usually fine. We confirm your country in the check.

The paid check
Your 5C check, in writing, for €49
- A clear written answer: yes, no, or yes if you change one thing
- Every 5C condition checked against your case, one by one
- Your exact application deadline
- Your real yearly saving in euros. The break cuts income tax, not social security, so it's usually much less than half
- Your next steps and the documents you'll need
- A fixed price for filing your application, in the same answer. No open-ended quote
Fixed price, no quote games. Many firms now say "individual quote" for 5C. We tell you the price before you pay anything: €49 for the check, and a fixed filing price in your written answer.
The €49 is credited in full if we then file your 5C application for you. So if you go ahead, the check costs you nothing extra.
- Pay securely by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.
- Right after paying, you answer 11 short questions. About 5 minutes.
- You get your written answer within 3 working days.

Why a paid check
Free quizzes give you a general idea. We check your case.
Free online checks tell you what usually applies. 5C turns on details: when your contract starts, where your employer is registered, whether a Greek registration makes sense for your income. Get one of them wrong and you either miss a year of the break or apply for something you can't keep.
Our check gives you an answer you can act on, in writing.
Questions
Before you decide
Is the free result enough on its own?
If it says you don't qualify, yes. If it says you might, the details decide it, and that's what the paid check covers.
I have a Digital Nomad Visa. Does that give me the 50% break?
Not on its own. The visa is for work for employers or clients outside Greece. The 5C break is for work done through a Greek employer or a Greek registration. Some visa holders can still qualify by changing their setup. The check tells you if that makes sense for you.
When is the deadline?
It depends on when your work in Greece starts. If you started by 2 July, you apply by 31 December of the same year. If you started later, you have until 31 December of the next year. Miss it and you lose a full year of the break. The check gives you your exact date.
How much will I actually save?
Less than most people expect. The 50% cut applies to income tax, not to social security. On €60,000 gross that's about €9,600 a year, not €30,000. The check works out your own number.
What happens to the €49 if I go ahead?
It's credited in full against the filing of your 5C application with us, if you book it within 60 days of receiving your answer.
Can I get a refund?
If we can't give you an answer, you get your money back. Once we've delivered your written answer, the €49 isn't refundable. See the terms. Read the terms.
